The group went to Shanghai, Hanchow, Canton, Beijing. Nanking and Wusih. Dr Hamilton describes visits to various medical institutions, and records several major operations performed under analgesia using acupuncture. The group also visited the Great Wall and other tourist attractions, a People's Commune and other sights of interest.
