About this work

Description

Trésor de santé. Partly Compiler's holograph MS. Below the date on the title-page is 'doré scrips[it]', and the MS. seems to have been partly written by him, and partly by Madame Lievain herself. The latest dated entry, 1740, is found on the fifth leaf. The second leaf from the end is inscribed 'Extrait de la Naissance des enfants de Mme Lievain' in the scribal hand, but some of the entires are by her hand. Between 1712 and 1727 she gave birth to five sons and five daughters, of whom all survived except a son born in 1717 who lived only four months. The receipts are mainly medical, but include also a few for conserves, essences, etc.
