Description

Her receipt Book. A collection of cookery and medical receipts. On the third leaf before the end of the cookery receipts 'Finished by Mrs. George Rye June 14th, 1787. Darling Hall'. The medical receipts begin at the other end of the volume, on the first leaf of which is inscribed: 'Mrs. George Rye May 29th 1786' and below 'Catherine Rye her receipt Book dated in the year 1786'. 'Domina Rye ejus liber' beneath this seems to be by a different hand.
