Young, Jane

Collection of cookery receipts, with a few medical receipts. Compiler's holograph MS. There are four sets of receipts containing 58, 90, 35 and 80 numbered items. 'Jane Young' is inscribed on the verso of the last leaf. Signature of 'Isaac Hodgson' in pencil written inside the upper cover.

1 volume 4 ll. (last 3 bl.). + 63 ll. 4to. 19 × 141/2 cm. 19th cent. half-calf binding: lower cover wanting. Only fragments remain of the two leaves before the last leaf: some leaves are probably missing at the beginning of the volume. Margins cropped, and some leaves stained.
