Henry Sanford: papers relating to John Seale and controversies over AIDS

Articles, cuttings, correspondence etc about Dr John Seale's controversial theories on the origin of AIDS. Seale was a former fellow-student with, and a colleague of Sanford's at St Thomas's. Seale developed controversial theories on the origins of AIDS and the best way of containing its spread. Sanford was a supporter, writing letters to editors on behalf of Seale's views, and also contacting various influential people on his behalf.

Henry A Sanford qualified in medicine (Cambridge and St Thomas's) MB BChir, 1951. He became a consultant in the Department of Rheumatism and Rehabilitation at St Thomas's Hospital

Dr John R Seale also qualified in medicine, (Cambridge and St Thomas's) MB BChir, 1951, and also gained the MRCP. He was in the Departments of Genitourinary Medicine and Venereology at St Thomas's and the Middlesex Hospital.
