About this work

Description

A Tavistock Institute study of Royal Wanstead School, a residential educational institution for vulnerable young people facing abuse, neglect or trauma at home. The study was conducted by Isabel Menzies and Robin Higgins, to investigate and assist in the rebuilding of Royal Wanstead junior schools at Sawbridgeworth, and how to provide the most acceptable conditions for younger children at the school.

Staff from the Institute undertook field work and interviews with school staff, both domestic and educational, to understand the structure and organisation of the school.
